I've just finished this. What a wonderful book.
I've never read Georges Simenon before but I'll be reading a lot more in the future.
The man is a masterful storyteller. All three of the stories in this book are beautifully put together.
I'll do a proper review later but if any of you are looking for a Christmas book, I strongly recommend this one.
Meanwhile, after consulting @Tigus, I've got a Maigret novel "The Yellow Dog" and a stark, brutal novel, set in Nazi-occupied France, called "The Snow Was Dirty" in my TBR pile for 2020.
